Skimmer Conversion

I have a Berlin Turbo Skimmer (Hang On Tank) and I am installing a sump and I want to move the skimmer from the tank to the sump. Does anyone know if you can convert the Berlin hang on skimmer to an in sump installation?

I had done that in the past with an old one I had. I just removed the intake tube that the pump is attached to and hooked the pump up more directly to the inlet. You can also leave the elbow on it, you're just building up more back pressure on the pump than you need to though. The largest problem I had when doing it was the splashing from the two return tubes (and you can't submerger them into the water.

You can just hand it on the side of your sump it you want nad have room. It will be more efficient since it is skimming the water that is coming from the surface of the water column where most proteins accumulate.
