Hello everyone.

Well i got home for R and R and started my build. Its just a little tank but it should work for what im trying to do. So here are a few pics.

This is a 58G from Oceanic

the drain....i was to lazy to make my own.

the rock here was gotten from a nice lady in temple, dont know how long it was running in her tank but it filled a 125G tank. So i just used what i needed and pretty much gave the rest away.

Well a bit of hair algae for the little guys to get cleaned up but not to bad.
I did put a few fish in for the wife and son to look at while im gone.
Lawnmower blenny
2 firefish gobies (one is a purple)
one a gramma
The rock cured in the garage for a month before i got home, and all the water tested good so i thought it wouldnt hurt to add them.

Now the tank will be left alone until next year when i get back from Iraq, I hope to be back by Jan but you never know.

The only thing i didnt get done that i really wanted was getting the sand seeded. So if anyone is in the Ft Hood area that has fine sand with worms and such plz let me know. I have to fly out monday morning so this weekend is my last chance.

Specs
58G tank, 20G Sump, Euro Reef RS180 skimmer, Rtn pump mag 9.5 thu 1/4HP CustomSeaLive Chiller, one Seiko 1500, one MJ with Mod, 10G Auto topoff, one SE 250MH, two PC bulbs, and 8 Blue moon LED's

Anyway feel free to let me know what ya think. Hope yall all have a good weekend.

I am in Harker Heights. You can get a few cups of sand if you dont find someone closer. My rock/sand/corals have been in a 100 gallon for nearly 3 months I had a leak in May and my tank has been seperated into two tanks all this time. Fish in one, everything else in the other. Needless to say, I have alot of inhabitants living in my sand as there are no fish eating anything.

Let me know.

The aquarium looks great! The dems of the 58g are one of my favorites (36x18). Thinking about getting one myself. You went all out on the equipment; already bought a chiller. The rock work is a really cool layout as well. Off to a awesome start. The only thing I could see that I would have changed was to seal the inside of the stand with white paints and the outside with a sealent. Whos going to watch the tank while you are gone? And thanks for serving us and our country!

ty for the coments, the stand is just a temp. its just somthing to hold the tank tell i get back. My dad is going to build me a nice one that will hold everything inside. As far as who is watching the tank, that will be the wife. She has taken care of them for me before, so im not worried about it. Plus there is nothing in it to kill, cep the fish...lol...and they are hers..lol...if it were up to me...i wouldnt have fish in my tank..lol...all they do is poo in my water..lol...

It was great meeting you. Be as safe as you can in Iraq, and if you or your wife need something for the tank, let me know. I will try to help the best I can.

Thanks for the comments about Kasper. He is our big little Saint!

if you need some snails let me know. i bought a bunch in bulk and would be willing to give you some. i'm trying to get in a shippment of hermit crabs as well, but seem to be having issues getting them here alive. guess that's what i get for going with ebay, but it sounded like a good deal. anyway, if those ever get here alive i'll hook you up with hermits as well.

right now i have about 150 snails that are extra. i ordered 150 assorted hermits off of ebay but i'm having a really hard time with the seller. he said in his auction that he ships overnight, and they go out the day after payment. i confirmed that in an email before i paid for them so i should have gotten them on 8-7. i was notified from paypal that the order was ready to ship on 8-11 they didn't ship until 8-13 and i got them on 8-15. unfortunately every single one was dead on arrival. i contacted him but i believe he is using an english/spanish translator that is really bad so half the message was in spanish and the other half was really bad grammar. if i'm understanding what he is trying to say he is going to reship the order and double it for the inconvience. i'm pricing them at what i spent between shipping and actual price. the snails came to be $0.15 each and the crabs were going to be $0.40 but if he doubles the order for the same price i'll drop the price to $0.20 each. i will be sure to let you know as soon as i get those crabs in. i'll pm you my contact info so your wife can call or email and we can set something up.

If he doesnt need em all let me know as well :) I just started my 55g setup and Im trying to save for a good cleaning crew myself. I spent $182 on 17lbs of LR for some Marshall Island so it kinda broke the bank for the cleaning crew lol. Let me know if you have any extra after wards.

sounds good. where are you located? i know of a few people around killeen that are just setting up saltwater tanks, so maybe we can all get together and place another large order for snails and hermits. we could get a better selection that way.
