Are feeder shrimp (krill, mysis)named based on their size? I ask this because when people speak of them, they always relate to size. I bought some cubed krill, and it was pretty small and the fish loved it. I bought a flatpack, and the shrimp are twice the size, and none of them want to eat it because it is that much larger. I am looking for a good staple food for my puffer, but have been having some complications. I can feed him brine, mysid or bloodworms, and due to the inefficiency of how puffers swim, it seems that he just barely gets enough food. I've tried clams, but he just doesn't like them. Anyone got any crafty ideas or know of a particular brand of shrimp to try that comes in a flatpack with some kind of shrimp that is about 1/2" long?

Ive seen krill about 1/2" long in flat packs at most petstores.

The ones I see are about 1/2 inch, but once they are "extended" they are longer almost 1"

Mine loved clam. He killed every one I ever tried to keep. And snails. Shame on any snail that turned over and showed his foot.

I fed mine frozen brine or some of the frozen homemade foods that were available at some of the meetings. He would eat out of my hand. He'd eat my fingers if he could get a bite.
