Does anyone know a LFS to get Marshall Island Live Rock? Id like to hand pick it, not get some unknown-unseen pieces from the net. I saw a picture of someones Awesome tank somewhere... pictures below But it makes me want to start the tank up with that in there considering i want more space for the fish to swim and since it is more bang for your buck, Id rather spend the cash to have more space....

Uncured and NON-Cherry picked Marshall Island Rock sells for about $10 per pound. I should know, I bought 50lbs worth.

Try getting ahold of Ed at Wolf Reef. He usually does special orders on Live Rock and he might be able to help you out.

Ed told me he'd order any rock by the box for me at a ROCK bottom price. That great price is for the whole box (As Is) which is very fair. -SoLiD

Man, that is pretty steep for some Marshall Island rock. Granted it is very VERY nice rock, but $10/lb?
With my new tank I have decided to go another route....I will use dry fiji rock....Since I am starting from scratch, I can get this rock and seed it with a couple of pounds of live rock. Because it is dry and hasn't been soaking in water, it is lighter, and you definitely get more bang for your buck this way. There is no die off, as it is dry. And I contacted him and he said that for the 50 lb box, it would be roughly 30 bucks shipping (total of about $150)...which comes out to a little over 3 bucks a lb whichis cheap for fiji rock.

you can also do a look up of marco rocks on reef central and get better images. if you have the patience of seeing the rock grow coraline, this could be another option for you...
