What is the best quiestest lowest watt return pump?

Sequence Snapper or Dart. They are external pumps and are the best when it comes to decibel noise and wattage consumption. The Snapper uses the same motor as the Dart but has a different impellar. So the Snapper will give you less gph overall.

Can I stick with my PC's or should I move to VHO or T-5

I would seriously consider looking into VHO or T-5's. From what I have read, power compacts lose their intensity sooner than a VHO or a T-5 bulb would. With that being said, you'll be changing out bulbs more often. Talk to Ace. He used PC's on his tank and then made the switch to T-5's.

The tank has (2) 1-1/2 holes drilled in the bottome of the over flow.
Should I use both for drains and return over the top or one for each keeping in mind I what to T with my SQID.

Well if you are looking to use a SCWD, I'm not sure if a high flow pump like a Snapper or Dart would work with it. I believe Ocean Motions makes a 2way random changing wave device that would handle more flow than a SCWD would. If your setup will allow you to run the lines over the back, I would use both holes for your drains.

I definately wouldnt use a pressure pump with a SCWD unless youre into small explosions...

Avoid PC's if possible, T-5's or VHO's would be a much better choice..

Im using an MD55 to run my skimmer and its plenty powerfull and very quiet...
