I've heard some people say that Catalina is garbage. Kyle here bought several of their halide units and both of us were very impressed, both at quality and price. For the half year or so he was running the setup all went well as far as I know. We both also liked the "cheap" halide bulbs that came with the units. I think in the end you'll be happy for what you spend.

stay away from anything comeing from them it is all cheaply made copies of other products. I did not know before and I purchased a sump kit from them I ended up cutting the baffles out of the sump and redoing them and replaceing the skimmer the lights that came with it melted the plastic and almost set my stand on fire. But thats just my .02

Interesting Chickeneye. What part melted? Your tank or the fixture? Everything I've seen from that company uses aluminum fixtures, not plastic.
