Tank is 90 degrees!

We had a flood in our house and now some guy stuck humidifiers and fans in here. You would think the fans would keep the house cool but the humidifiers have the house close to 100 degrees and we cant open windows :( So far all thats lost is my frogspawn. I have two questions, what can i do to cool off my tank temperarily (about 8 more hours) and might insurance cover my losses?

Put a fan to blow across the top of the water. The larger the fan the better. You'll get some evaporation, but it will help to cool the tank.

empty the ice from your freezer into a gallon size zip lock bag - seal it up and float it in the tank or sump. also, turn off all of the tank lights.

I've been there before. I had about 6 humidifers in my house and it was miserably hot. The best I could do for my tank was to keep the lights off as much as possible and run as many fans over the water. Keep the cabinet doors open and take of any lids you may have. Also, who is doing the clean-up job for your house?

All great advice. I got the top open with a fan blowing across with lights off. Just stuck some ice in a back and am about to float it. Name of the company is Service Master. Good company and would recommend them to anyone so far but we're not done dealing. Thanks for all the advice. They are coming in a couple hours to get everything out so it should cool off but until then its looking like these bags of ice will do the trick

I used independence carpet care. Do Not Use Them! Worse company I have ever dealt with plus I am positive one of the workers stole my ipod.
