I have heard if you use tropic marin for regular water changes you don't need to supplement, since they add it to the mix already. I would like to get some opinions on this topic. Thanks

I guess it all depends on the corals you're keeping in your tank that dictates whether you need to supplement or not. For trace elements (iodine, ect), you probably won't need to dose as these will be replenished through your regular water changes. Don't dose something you can't test for. :)
If your tank had a high calcium load (predominately SPS or LPS), it will require you to supplement calcium through a 2 part additive or kalk or calcium reactor. I know for my tank, water changes can't keep up with the coral's calcium intake so I have to supplement.

It will also depend upon what tropic Marin you buy. If memory serves me, the Pro bucket actually has less supplements in it since reefkeepers tend to prefer using all these gadgets to do the work for them.
