I have had my tank up for a little over a month and green alge is now taking over. What can I do to stop it?

Dont let your uncle feed your tank, when he is tanked.

nothing. it is part of the cycle. keep doing your water changes and dont overdo it on the feeding or adding livestock.

Normal. Please tell us what you have in the tank.

60 gallon tank with two clowns, 3 damsels, about 30 lbs LR, 50 lbs LS, hermits, snails, and 4 four ft long VHO's for lighting.

If your tank is only about a month old, then now is a good time to start dosing this:

Regular cycle of things. I just got through a huge bloom that I had going from my initial setup. Perfectly clean now, just make sure you have enough hermits and snails but don't get too many or they may starve later.

Mine lasted a three to four weeks. I put in a good clean up crew of snails blue leg hermits, and my algae blenny loved the stuff. Also had a sea hare that recently passed on, I think he ate himself to death.

Just make sure you have a large enough clean up crew and you'll be fine.
