His activity level and his coloring is great but he will not eat.. i have fed brine, mysis, marine cuisine, brown algae, and green algae in sheets and torn all apart,, wants nothing to do with it... who sells live brine around here?

Is this the one that you just got? Blonde Naso? Maybe it is still adjusting??

Might be eating off rock. Ur not at the tank 24/7 and ive seen tangs go long time w/o eating. BUT i think FA had some every now and then.

Had one do the same thing, I tried EVERYTHING that I could think of. Sorry to say that it withered away and died in about a month...it picked on rocks and thats it.

I like to think of myself of a good fishkeeper, I attributed it to never adjusting to aquarium foods.

Good luck, I hope it works out.

Imagine being shoved in a dark box, shaken around, possibly dropped, no room to walk around and the all of a sudden youre tossed into a room with no clue as to where you are, then some big ogre tries to shove a double cheeze whopper down your throat, youd probably be more freaked out than anything. Its gonna take time for him to adjust and feel comfortable enough to show an interest in food. Right now, Id be more concerned about making sure to do everything possible to help prevent Ich. Good lick!

What jimD said but times 2 cause im sure it wasnt born at the place you ordered it from. From what Ive heard about almost any tang some times you have to try a couple before you get a good eater.

Use garlic, too. I bought one 9" two weeks ago and he hid in the rocks for a week. I didn't know if he ate or not but now he comes out to eat. I hope for the best because I love Naso tangs. Mine's the largest in the tank.

thanks for all the input!!! I'm not as worried about him as i might have made it sound because he is acting normally and looks great.. just mainly wondering what other experiences were and if live food would help

put about 5 dozen ghost shrimp and a big wad of cheato in the tank. mine was eating the shrimp after 3-4 days and was going through a softball size clump of cheato every couple of days.
