Has anyone tried one of these setups yet? I want to know if it's worth it.

Here's the Reef Central thread. I'm on the list for a 72" 400w one... Don't know if I'll make the "yes" decision yet!

My friend and I are starting constuction on a LED that should match a 400w mh. The one we are setting up is for test and comparison purposes. This should be lit either this comming week or very soon next week. If you dont need it right now let us finish the mach up and run some tests and hopefully we can produce them for near the cost of a good 400w mh set up. check out the equipment and diy forum. Now as for the solaris/fpo controler options... wow, We will need to really step up the pace for that. We are thinking a simple three stage maybe four with night lights and the red for watching night critters.

I saw your post. The PFO system includes a BUNCH of R & D. Apparently, this is much more difficult that they originally thought. Hot spots (and I mean HOT spots), are difficult to eliminate.
