I am having trouble deciding on light. I have a 75 gallon tank. I have a 4-LX ARO Ballast and wiring kit. I have decided not to use the hood with these lights and want to put a light strip over the tank. (it is in my classroom) I want to keep FOWLR. Which would be better a T-5 fixture with 4 54 watts for a total of 216 or a PC light with 4 65 watt bulbs.
Thanks

David, if you are not plannig to put any corals there, fish only need light to see, so what ever is the most conviniet for you will do, or the cheapest
good luck

only thing that great lights on a tank with a heavy load of fish and only live rock is going to grow different types of algea unless you have a great skimmer.
I would just get a cheap light from the for sale section or petsmart...

4 - T5HO to replace with URI Lamps $88 / 4 - 65/55w CF Lamps Chinese made $128 average. T5HO Lamps are cheaper to replace and last longer. Both put out about the same amout of light when new. Unless you have individual reflectors for the T5HO's.
