no, just lucky it was part of the package from todd - just decided to keep the chiller and aquacontroller instead of selling it.

Cool
So are you hooking your AquaController II up via the serial cable to that 'cheap' laptop of yours? And the laptop is uploading the info to the site via the internet?

i know. it was showing them at 6:30, and then it quit. it isnt anything on my end, it is probably the site that created the signature - probably will come back the next time that site refreshes it.

Not sure what the issue is here. But I can say that the issue is not from our site. I have found if you are using a DDNS that unless you have a client loaded locally when the ip changes for your connection it is not updated on the DDNS site. The only other solution is a static IP.
If you are using a DDNS like no-ip or dyndns then you need to make sure it has the latest IP set.
Also if you like the sig generator, you will probably like the Widget as well. You can check it out here (http://www.reefchat.org/Extras/StatusWidget/tabid/263/Default.aspx)

thanks steve - i dont know what is going on, i am using no-ip, and it has my current ip address, but the ability to connect to the program on my computer seems to be intermitten. it was working fine at 7:30 this morning but now no connection.

ok steve - my bad. i think the problem is interferance between my 2.4 ghtz phone and wireless router causing the connection to be reset on the laptop that is connected to the aquacontroller. moved the phone and hopefully that will take care of it.

Wireless phones nailed me more than once on my wireless network. Finally had to break down and get 5.3ghz phones. But glad to see it is working again.

Can we make a new forum called "Ace's World" or something?! Or maybe Ace and Brian can collaborate on one and call it "Reef Gods."
Of course, we would all get more jealous everytime we checked out their forum. But, at least we would know exactly where to go to get the correct time of day by checkin out Ace's signature! :P

Heh.
Warning, geek overload ahead:
I have an ancient used AC II that I have hooked up to a computer that I use to snag the stats.
I also picked up a used touchscreen and hooked it up to that computer and I'm running a VB app on it that shows the graphs and whatnot.
http://www.rowelab.com/fish/screen.jpg
And before that I had a little 5" screen with stats (this was just testing, my stats aren't that off)..
http://www.rowelab.com/fish/screen1.jpg
And I also have a scrolling sign in my office that shows tank parameters:

Hrmm.. <code> <code> <hack> <code> What is this thing called 'sport'?
Nah, but I also have it scrolling the recording status of my linux based DVR.
