ANyone has any advice? I just purchased a beautiful Flame Angel fish yesterday, acclimated for about 30-45 minutes and he looked wonderful last night. When I got home today, he looked as if he/she was breathing fast and was on the same spot behinf the live rock. The rest of the fish (2 percula clowns, royal gramma, as well as a cleaner shrimp and plenty of snails still look alive and well I have recently checked my parameters (spg, pH, ammonia, nitrites an nitrates) and they're all well within normal. I did a spot check spg check and a mini water change as well as I changed the cartridge in the filter. He is still alive, but not sure he will make it.

Any ideas?

Yes, he was eating well at the store. I purchased it from Underwater Monsters and the owner told me he got it from Sea Dweeling Creatures. he appeared vey healthy at the store and another one he had last night is doing well.

royal grammas and clowns are very territorial. how big is the tank? the other fish could be harasing it when your not looking. rearrange the tank a little and throw a small piece of some thing (rock, clay pot)into the area that it is at so that it has somewhere to go.

Has he eaten in your tank at all? Did you SEE him eat at the LFS? How long did the LFS have him before you bought him? All pertinent questions.... If the LFS only had him a day or two, then the tramatic changes from ocean to whlser, to dealer and then to you transition is alot of stress on a fish.

Thank you all for the suggestions. The fish is now in fish heaven. I think nthe tank may have been too small (even though most websites I looked recommended minimum of 30 gals). I have an Oceanic BioCube 29G. I think I will stick to beginner type fish for now.

Again thanks

If you have a 29G biocube and lets say your LR fills more than half of the tank then I would think with the other fish you named it would get pretty tight in there. With him being the new fish........

can you post a picture of the tank?
