Have you seen the early reports on the price, though?!? (Something like $2500.)
Someone posted a while back about this light, and did a cost comparison between this unit vs. MH lights with actinic support. If I remember correctly, startup costs with this unit are much higher, but in the long run (considering bulb replacement and operating costs) it's a better deal.
I love the idea of being able to change the color temp. with the optional control module. No way I'll ever be able to get one, though.
(Actually, if I just go ahead and buy it, I'm sure my wife's life insurance money will more than cover it! :skeezy "You paid HOW much for that?!?" Then she has the heart attack.)

Yeah it's a great idea, once it takes off as an idea, it'll probably replace alot of lights!

According to Sanjay Joshi, they do not put out enough PAR/PUR for SPS. LPS, softies and such would do fine.

I'm so glad some one is finally marketing this. Just give it enough time and the price is sure to come down to affordable prices. I think they'd be great for my nano tank. I've been wanting to rig something like this up, but I just really don't have the know how.
