External pump suggestions

I need a couple of external water pumps. There are lots of choices out there.

All advice is welcome.

I really like Sequence pumps.

First thing is to figure out how much water you want to move and how much head pressure you have.

i'm using a little giant for my return and an iwaki 30 for my skimmer, i like the iwaki, it is super quiet

Wow, all over the place. Sounds like it would be hard to go wrong with any modern pump.

I will choose a model that will meet my gpm and pressure needs.

Iwaki seems to be a very popular pump. Japanese or American motor? Does anyone think it really makes a difference?

a pump is a pump and you get what you pay for... i love the gen-x pumps. they are cheap and pressure rated.. i have two 850 gph pumps pushing my 120

Blueline/Panworld -same pump. Blueline is the private label name for Champion. I THINK the coralife pumps are also private label panworld pumps.

Panworlds seem a little quieter than the iwaki's to me.

I've used iwaki's, genx, sequence, blueline/panworld. They are all good pumps.

Another vote for Pan World. I have a 100 PXX on my 200, 50 PXX on my 155, and a cute little 40 PX on my 58 gal.
