Queston from IRAQ

well i got my wish and got pcs'ed back to ft hood...woot...but i also got deployed to IRAQ../cry...anyway....that has not stoped my reef dreams...
...when i left AZ i sold all my livestock and tank..i knew the army would break it anyway. so now im thinking about going smaller...being that i dont live onpost anymore...and water and elec is not free anymore..hehe...call me cheep...but i thought a 40gal breeder and a 40gal sump should be okay to do a nice little sps reef..i still have all my hardware, lights, pumps, big euro reef skimmer,chiller...ect..

the problem is that i dont know where i can buy/order the tanks at...is there a place yall can let me know of....i must have it reef ready...and close looped if i can...plus i kinda want it by lemar. cuz i like how they silcone the corners...i dont like it when im cleaning a tank to hit extra silcon...plus its got to be glass...cuz i use razors to clean all the time..

if there is a shop or online site yall can let me know of...that would be great....im 1hr from austin...

oh ya...does lemar do starfire glass...is that whats it called??..you know...the low led kind..

anyhelp would be great...the only place i have found so far is that glasscages site...but they run the beads of silcon in the corners of the tank. i realy want it clean on the inside, so i dont cut in to it with the razor.

sounds like you want something specifically made by lemar, check their website, actually I never heard of lemar tanks

also check if there is a local reef club you may save a ton of money if you buy from a local guy getting out of the hobby

i tried looking at lemars web page...but they dont sell to normal people...only fish stores i think...thus my problem..lol...
is there a diff brand of tank that does the corners like lemar??...you know...where the bead of silcon is just inbetween the glass...and not in the inside of the tank as well??...ty...rich

oh well easy fix, contact you local fish store, if you dont have a local, I know there are some in Austin, and some friendly store owner will order one for you, just pick exactly what you want, print it and take it to the store, done deal

worse case scenario, I know my local stores will do it for you, only problem is the drive from your house to san anton to PU the tank and I am sure check the local LFS

that maybe what i have to do...in killeen there is only one store...and after seeing it i dont think im going to ever go back...they had a few dead rocks that they wanted 10$/lbs. i dont think i have ever seen rocks that white...so if anyone knows any stores in austin that i can order from that would be great..maybe a phone number or 2. i dont mind waiting for it...being that i have 9 mos here still.. but i can get the stand and can rolling in the mean time..my old man does wood work, and he is asking for 4mos and $1K ,,,but he needs the two tanks there to get started...has anyone ever done stained glass doors on there stand??...anyway...ty again....rich

My suggestion would be to go to talk to Carlos at River City Aquatics. It's a store in Austin, but it's more North Austin. You can get to it right off 183. Make the extra drive for a great professional guy to deal with- in my opinion. He sells new and some used tanks too most of the time I think. River City is a sponsor too :)

there is actually a new pet store in killeen. it's called underwater monsters. it's located on the corner of stan schlueter and w.s. young. in the d and d plaza. the owner is very friendly and has very patient with answering all my questions. he has told me before if i want to order anything he is more than happy to work with me in getting anything i'd want. i'm sure he'd do the same for you.

sorry it took me so long to get back to yall...i was FOB hoping alot this week...and once i got back to Warhorse we got put on Black Out.. but ill try and hit everyone..

the reason its going to cost so much is cuz its kinda of a crazy stand and can...its going to go all the way around the tank in the back and have all the plumbing worked in where its not seen so much, plus the doors are not going to just be wood. we are going to do some stained glass pictures to add to the view of it. he is not making me pay for any labor, just the wood and glass.. ill get the wife to email me a pic of the first picture and post it..
