I just got a really big hermit crab from Loislane. I wean Big ***** big. He carries around a shell about 2 inches long and about an inch tall. He came from a FOWLR tank. Should I move let him live in the fuge or will he be reef safe. I don't know if he has blue or red legs. All I know is he has big legs :lol . Any though?

Probably a zebra (Dark & white bands on legs) - I have a couple of these bad boys - never hurt anything that I can tell.
Best served with drawn butter ;)

I'm a bet it's just one of those huge coastal hermits. The Dome here in ATX sells them and yours woudl look tiny next to it. I wouldn't add one that large to my reef for fear it would knock things over.

If its not one of the gulf coast ones it could be a Dardanus spp. hermit. Absolut crustacean chaos will ensue - they will destroy or eat anything they can lay their greedy little claws on! I see the red with blue spot ones for sale and the tan one with the commensal anemones too. They are hella fun to watch but not safe with any sessile invertebrates or slow moving fish.
