ok i bought 4 of these things from www.mjmods.com for my 900's.. i thought it would be simple to put together.. HA! i got one to work and for the life of me i have tried every combination under the sun to try and get another one running and they just won't work they simply won't spin the right way. i have tried moving the stops making the props longer/shorter. turning prop around and every combination there you can think of and nothing.anyone have any ideas? i hate to think i wasted all that money :angry

Free Bump!
I would like to know why it is spinning the wrong way. I was under the impression that the impeller could only spin one way in the pump.

If you look here for the video that shows how to make the mjmods he talks about it spinning backwards. He says that there is a way to fix it. Or you can ask louis at aquatic warehouse. He makes them.

There's nothing to keep the pump from starting in one direction. Because it's an impellor, it doesn't matter. It will pump water regardless of which direction the impeller is spinning. When you change it to use a propeller, then you have to force it to start in only one direction.
You need to put a small pin or something just in front of the propellor. Position it so that when the pump starts the wrong direction the propeller will move forward and strike the pin. When you assembled the pump, the propellor should have a small amount of free travel in and out of the motor. When it stops, the pump will restart in the opposite direction.
Mine makes a rattling noise until it starts right. About 1 second. But only when it starts in the wrong direction.

Keep at it and you will it to work. Mine would constantly get stuck when it wanted to reverse flow. What I did was shave the propeller down a bit to reduce the flow. Since then I got the flow I wanted and the propeller has yet to stick or reverse flow.

ok,, i re-traced all me steps and logic said that the way its built it should work.. so what else could be wrong besides the way i built it? i had a thought, i took a pair of scissors and a dremel and cut about a 1/4" off the prop and rounded and sharpened the edges..... works like a charm... starts up every time :D
they sent me props that were too big so i am having them send me the correct ones

and now i am going to have to move some softies because of too much flow... these things pack a pretty good punch
