I am looking to redo my sump and plumbing. I am by no means good at this sort of stuff. This was my first plumbing experience and really didn't know what I was doing. Well I tried the google sketchpad to try to illustrate my current setup. Not sure if I did it right. Here goes nothing...Well, I have several issues. First is that the sump is not large enough to hold water in the event of power failure. Second, I would like to move the chiller to a new location and not under the tank. Lastly, I want to add a calcium reactor and kalk reactor to my system. So basically, I want to clean things up and improve my tank setup. Any and all suggestions welcome.

I guess the attachment didn't go through. Maybe the sketchpad is not an allowable extension. Can I change this to make it work?

select what you drew on sketchpad. copy. open paint. paste. save as jpeg file and then attach it.

Thanks! Well basically one of the return lines goes directly into section A...the other tees off and part of it goes into section C (refugium with light, deep sand bed, live rock, and chaeto)...the other part goes into the chiller which then returns into section A....the water from section B goes back into the main tank...The two darkened circles are holes which drain from the refugium...my problem is that since my skimmer is in the sump and it has to be run in about 6-7 inches of water, there is not enough room for the water in the event of power failure....a couple of inches of water from the refugium also drains into the sump....any suggestions on modifying my sump?

How much space do you have under your tank?

I have some space since it is an in-wall setup that backs into my closet.....

I am somewhat limited by what I can get under the stand from the three 2x4s that are part of the stand so that is an issue as well....
