ok... got a question.

let me start with some tank info.

i am running a 30x30x25 cube tank that reefone built for me. it currently has a 250wt mh pendent with 2 75wt vho's. i'm running 10k hamilton bulb and it is a sps tank.

I'm thinking about the following options.

1. switch to a 400wt mh with 15k xm bulb with the same 2-75wt vho's(with new bulbs) same pendent.

2. keep the 250wt with the 2-75wt vho's and add 4-24" t5's with individual reflectors

3. keep the 250wt mh in a luminarc3 and put the vho's over tank

4. keep the 250wt mh in a luminarc3 and get 4 24" t5's

i'm trying to find the most effective way to light the tank with the least amount of heat.

The tank is doing ok at this point. but i feel i need more light to get the color and growth up.

Here's another option you may want to think about.
Go with the Luminarc reflector with a 12K reeflux bulb. As far as your actinic I don't know if you will gain much with changing over to T5's other than spending more $$, plus with going with the 12K I think you'd have enough blue.

go with the luminarc with the reeflux 12k bulb and keep the VHO actinics

I agree Troy with the Lum3 , 12k RF and keep the VHOs.

so keep the 250wt mh or 400wt with the lum3's?

Lumenarcs rock. Iam running 2-250Watts with 12K reeflux bulbs and 2 T-5 actinics.
