I have 2 20" 20W basic aquarium lights on my 32" tall tank. I plan on growing macro algae in there with my seahorses, so I believe I will need more light. However, I will have a hard enough time keeping my temp down for the horses, so what can I use to get my lighting up and keep my heat down?

Would it work to gut these lights and raise the wattage, etc? I have never worked with anything like this, so any help you can give is greatly appreciated. I am trying to keep my costs minimal.

Do any of you have macroalgae display tanks? How much light would you use on a 32" tall tank? I would like to grow some of the more rare species.
