ITS ALIVE......

About four months ago i introduced a purple lobster to my reef and for about two weeks all was well and I would observe him come out at night to forage, until i found him dead in the corner of the tank. Well yesterday I was looking the tank over checking for new growth and such and i see lobster pinchers in a crevis under a rock, thinking it was the long lost remains of my ill fated lobster, I reach in to remove them and to my surprise and his the pinchers retreat into the creves. After watching the creves for about ten minutes my very healthy and alive lobster emerges. So im thinking the shell that i saw almost three months ago was just its shedded shell and hes be living in seclusion all this time...

I remember the first time my lobster molted. I thought I had lost him. :)

We have a fire shrimp that when it molts you'd swear it was the shrimp. My purple lobster is going on about 6 months. The weirest was when I saw a horseshoe crab for the first time over a year later.

LOL, I just saw the molt from my purple lobster Sunday. It's the first sign of him I've seen since putting him in the tank about 8 months ago. Someday maybe I'll actually see the dang thing. From the molt I could tell he's gotten pretty big.

safeuerwehr-give me a $20 and I will email you a picture of a Purple lobster every 3-4 months. At least you could hold the picture in your hands, show it to firiends and family. This is better than what you get with a real Purple Lobster. LOL.
