How Many Snails Per Gallon

Well I am about to order some astrea snails for a little algae problem I have and was wandering what the ratio was on snails per gallons.

I've never heard of a good ratio. I usually buy a lot (or as much as I can afford). With having a larger tank its worthwhile to have as many of those suckers as you can. You will be surprised how fast 50 to 100 can 'blend into your tank' if you have alot of live rock. Some may be DOA too.

I think its beneficial to have more than one kind of snail in the tank. Go with some astrea, ceriths, and nerites. I wouldn't go larger than astreas, because those larger snails tend to knock a lot of live stock over that isn't glued down.
