So i have some gsp, and a few zoas but the only thing attached to a rock is some gsp that grew on it. Im too indecisive on where to place them so they are all just sitting in the sand!!! anyone else have this problem?

of course!
look at the nature of the coral and you will see that most of your decisions have been made for you. what type of flow, lighting, etc a coral likes will help you determine what type of positioning it has in it's tank, or at least, where it can't go.
Star polyps and zoa's go low, w/ less flow. the sand is a good place for those star polyps as you will be easily able to control it's growth.
as for the zoa's, I just try to imagine what the whole colony will look like when it over grows everything on that rock, and if I like that in my imagination, then I do it. don't look back, and just enjoy it.

Ha i made the plunge! I grabbed to Super Glue Gel and started placing. It all looks kinda funny now cause everything i buy is small and cheap but hopefull this stuff will take off. What you said helped me finally decide where to place everything. Thanks and good luck to anyone else with this problem

Yeah, I had that problem and sometimes hated it but once the colonies spread to the regular rock it looked better. Plus, then I could take the original colony back to the LFS and get credit ;)

it won't look funny at all in a couple of months. star polyps are cheap, and grow like mad, but they are very pretty.
