Cleaning Sand and Live Rock Rubble

i have 2 five gallon buckets of sand filled to the top that has been sitting in storage for about 2 months now. whats the best way of cleaing and preping this sand? same thing with the LRR, i have about 1/2 full 5 gallon bucket. another quick question. i know this may be hard to tell since you are not there to see the sand or feel the weight, but how many pounds do you think the sand is if it fills two 5 gallon buckets to the top?

Several pounds :lol Just kidding. could be 20-30 lbs a bucket easy.

thanks bro, the guy i got it from had said 70lbs, but in my head it seemed much more. i guess cause i had to carry both buckets and those suckers were HEAVY.
