Anybody have one? Good fish or bad fish? They are really beautiful fish but my knowledge of them stops at length and telling the sexes apart. So any help would be great.

If its the purple queen anthias they are one of the most difficult species to keep alive more than a month or two. Need 4 - 5 meals a day , good current and moderate light - if you want to try one make sure they are eating and are not emaciated.
This link from F & S seems about on par with what I've read:

I had one and it did great for about 2 months. I could only get him to eat cyclopese. He looked good for the 2 months then decided to stop eating.
They really are nice looking fish but I don't think I will be trying another one. They do say they do better if you get a school of them.

I am refering to the purple anthias, not the queen anthias. Every site talks about the queens and nobody says anything about these fish.

Get a latin name then - common names are applied to far too many species to be useful on fishes that are so similar as anthias.
Look up Pseudanthias tuka or Pseudanthias pascalus and see if those match.
