If you get your water from LFS you might want to check it first with a TDS meter. I bought 10 gals from Wolf reef in the past two weeks. I had an algae bloom and it didn't occur to me to check the water before I put it in the tank. Needless to say the meter read 171ppm. So I called and Alex said he would order new filters and give me replacement water.:lol Lesson learned on my part is to get purified water at walmart. Selling dirty water is not cool IMO.

I have been using their water, and only their water, for months now, and I have yet to get any kind of algae bloom in my tank at all. In fact, the only algae that I really ever get in my tank is coraline. And I go through about 20 gallons a week.

Did you test it with a TDS meter? Try it, you might be surprised.
