very nice looking fish, but ............
Won't bother corals, but this fish feeds on a wide array of invertebrates, (eats great!) including snails, sand-dwelling bivalves, hermit crabs, crabs, chitons, shrimp, isopods, amphipods and sea urchins. Not recommended for the reef aquarium.

That's kool if you are ok with it... and you know the consequences... right?
At the end, all it matters is you to be happy and like what you see.

I had a big lunar in my one time 55 gallon work tank. I had frag overflow from my main reef and I never noticed him really bothering any of my zos, softies or even the few LPS I had in there. No shrimp but my snails seemed to do OK. He was a dominant fish however and would hog nearly all of the food I put in. He hit 6" and had to goto a bigger tank... I wouldnt put him in my main reef (also a cheap reef, btw) but they are great fish.

A Lunar Wrasse is a terrorist. Besides being aggressive they will move rocks around. Its going to out grow your tank pretty quickly too.
I had one when I newbie and didn't know any better. The australian is cool looking though. The Petco here used to mis-price fish all the time. That's beacuse no on there knows what it is they are selling. They just take a price off the puter. Its a little easier telling a Dachsund from an Irish Setter puppy. The other thing they seemed to do was mark fish down the longer they were in the store. Something would be priced pretty high and the price would just keeping down lower and lower. If you had a fish that lasted more then a few weeks in one of their tanks there was a good chance it was pretty darn hardy.
