My mom has a crocea clam and the mantle on the bottom part of the clam has gone away. Everything else in her tank is fine.
My question is, Do clams have the ability to grow there mantle back and is there something that I may do for it to help its chance of survival?

Clams can easily grow the mantle back if whatever organism or quality issue that is causing the recession is brought under control or fixed.

The source of the problem must be found. Where is the clam located in the tank? Can it be removed for inspection? What kind of fish are in the tank? How big is the clam? How long has the clam been in the tank? Facts about the tank.

The clam is located near the top of the tank since it is only under a PC. It could be removed for inspection. There are two purple firefish, two percs, one yellow clown goby and three cleaner shrimp. The cleaner shrimp continue to either to try and clean or eat the clam. The clam has been in the tank for a month along with a few other clams and they all seem to be doing well. The tank is a 46 gallon bowfront with just an emperor 400 on it. Everything seems to check out well. No nitrites showing up.
It seems to be doing better but I was wondering if I should move it to another tank.s

you have two problems
1. only under a PC
2. three cleaner shrimp ( they are hit and miss on picking at clams.)
you need to get better light if the clam is going to have a chance. if you aren't adding any phyto, oyster eggs, or such food your clams are starving and will die. you may want to move them to someone's tank that has better light till you can upgrade what your mom is using.
good luck

If I skip feeding for more than a day Ive noticed my clown goby will nip at my clam as well.

I completly agree with the lighting situation. I run MHs and seems to work really well. She does dose DTs and a few other things. I'm going to pull the cleaner shrimp that is getting to it and toss it into another tank.
THanks
