I'm going back to work on my sump. im going to use real thin acrylic 3/10" i think ( about the size of a thin cd case ) I want to know if this can be done on a circular saw? and what kind of teeth should i use?

Man, I dont think I attempt using a circular saw unless you had a blade with like a million teeth on it. You could try using a crosscut plwood blade installed backwards on the saw, it may work. Best thing would be a high speed table saw with a thin plywood blade and go real slow. A router might be your best bet. I havent had much luck cutting thin acrylic with anything actually.

my first try with this was using a box cutter and got fairly good cuts, but im looking to get a better cut, im going to try it out with the crosscut, my grandfather has a table saw and ill try that out as well. i know i have a router but i CANT FIND IT.

Thanks bud

I wouldn't use a circular saw, you'll probably have better results with a table saw. I've used a table saw and it worked great but it was with 1/4" not 3/10" so I don't know.

3/10" (.3") is thicker than 1/4" (.25 "). if it really is that thick, use a finishing blade - at least 60 carbide tooth blade on the circular saw or the table saw. if it is the thickness of a cd case, then the table saw will be your best bet.

Ace-sorry its about the size of 2, almost, thats what i was thinking i asked my dad for a blade thats for acyrlic stuff and he said a finish blade should work hopefully, well ill get 1 for the circular and 1 for the table i hope the circular saw works thanks ace

Aaron- I'll try the table saw if the circular doesnt go as planed. Thanks
