I finished plumbing my new fuge last night. I now need to get some macro algae for it and set up a light in there. Any suggestions? I know that Chaeto (sp?) is good, and same for Caulerpa (sp?). I'm a little worried about the Caulerpa "going sexual," though. Any thoughts on this?

Or, is there something else out there that would be good to use? Anyone need to prune back their fuge? If you're need to thin things out, I'd be happy to take some off your hands!

If anyone ever needs any Chaeto, please just give me a call and come by. Cell is 210.663.8079. OK, don't EVERYONE call at once - especially since I just gave Louis a huge ball of it a week ago. But, I generally have some available. I'm in Encino Park. 281 just north of 1604. I'm here about 1/2 the day - I work out of the house - and if you call the day before, there's always someone here and I can have it waiting.

I have kept both chaeto and caulerpa and never had a problem with caulerpa going sexual. I think the trick is to run runs 24/7 in your fuge. Chaeto is a great macro, but caulerpa makes a better fish food. Only my foxface will eat chaeto. Feather caulerpa is supposed to have some anti-ich properties. My fuge has a mixture of chaeto and feather, maiden's cup, and bubble caulerpa.

I have a big ball of chaeto in my 215 - no fuge. That's why I keep giving it away!

I also keep both cheato and razor caulerpa in my fuge. No problem with going sexual but like Gary said I run 24/7. If you want any PM me and I can give you some of both also.
