i have a 75 gal which i almost dumped after waiting over a month w/ nothing but rock and 2 chromis i had a bought a 6 line 2 more chromis and a blenny. water looked great the next morn 1 chromis and the wrass were history (my first thought was how the hell did i kill a chromis i though those things could **** near live in a bucket of ditry bath water) it only went down hill from there. another chromis died and nitrates were sky high. ater a month of regular water changes and lots of "remedies" and more $$ thani care to think about i almost gave up. then someone suggested taking the media out of my tidepool filter and that seems to have done the trick. it has been a few weeks ad all seems well now i am trying to get back on my feet but am really nervous about droppinh coin i dont have (wife and 5 month old baby who is facinated by chromis) to flush it 24h later... all and all i am happy w/ rocks and my dancing lights (MH) just got some clowns for the wife cross your fingers maybe someday i will get some coral for me 8)
