MARSH/MAAST Port A Collection Trip - Group Rate?

I don't know if anyone has been working on this, but it's getting down to the wire. My wife and I tried to make reservations a month in advance last year and they were full up all over the island.

Anyhow, when we did go we stayed at Plantation Suites.

This is by no means a resort or 5* accomodations, but it is clean, comfortable, and has jacuzzi bath tubs for your wives.

I just called, and their standard rate is $119.00 a night.

If we can get a firm number of people interested in this, we can obtain a group rate.

If you don't want to stay in something fancy...Flour Bluff area actually right around Ennis Joslen has a Motel 6 at $44 a night. It's a 30 minute drive to Port A, and on the way too and from San Antonio!

There are also some fairly affordable places in Aransas Pass just across the jetties. I also found several in the Corpus Christi and Rockport areas using Expedia. I would imagine that we will most likely stay in Corpus ourselves.

No problem, I'd just rather take the $80 for a room I'm only going to sleep in, and spend it on "Entertainment" and food for the evening!

Make sure your prices are up to date and they have rooms available. The Corpus area hotels have already started going up to their summer rates which are much higher than what they post on their signs.

Yeah when I got on Expedia they were showing the cheapest at Plantation Suites was $189 for that weekend. Ouch. :huh

I arranged 161$ a night for a suite with a king sized bed. (AAA discount)

I don't mind paying a little extra to be close, and know that I am staying in a pretty nice place. especially since my wife is very picky about things like that.

yeah I understand Ram...I'm a single guy, and don't stay in the room except to #2, Shower and Sleep. No need to pay the big bucks for that.

Here is a list of motels for everyone to reserve rooms at. This is a list of price per night. We couldn't get a group rate since there was no way to commit to a number of rooms with out guarantees from the attendees.
