Here is a picture of the mini beckett skimmer I built a while back. I finally opted to put it on my 40 gallon SPS reef and man, this baby is pulling stuff. This is after running about 8 hours, finally starting to get some nice foam. Much better as opposed to my SeaCrap skimmer. I have a dolphin DP-900 throttle back a bit pushing the beckett. The Tube is made of 4" OD 1/8" Extruded Acrylic. The riser in the cup is 2.5" OD. The flanges are 6" in diameter. The Box is 5"x9" and the inside has two pieces glued together with 60 degree cuts i believe, this hopefully will help keep bubbles from exiting the skimmer and possibly getting into the return. It will have a 1 1/4" Gate Vavle which I need to install still. The Beckett holder is just a 1" Coupling Extender i think, they have them at lowes. I built the box first. Then I drilled out the holes for the riser and the Uniseal for the beckett. Glued in the Main Riser and it was done. I assembled the Collection cup before. I'll try to do another one and post the entire thing under this section.

Dang, that is a masterpiece! You aren't affiliated with Tropical Fish Haven are you?

Are you making more? How long did it take you from start to finish?

Thanks for the comments guys!

discuspro:

No, i'm not at all affiliated with TFH. I'm trying to get my own business going. I do plan on making more. I actually built the skimmer in a day, so it wouldnt take long to build more at all.

hammondegge:

the skimmer is 19 1/4" tall.
