What do you do to keep you calcium levels stable. I know get a calcium reactor. What about other methods dripping Kalk what ever. I am curious to know.

I have calcium reactors, but they do not keep the Ca level up, only Alk. I am adding Turbo Calcium to keep levels at 425 - 450. I use I/O salt and it has low Ca (320) so water changes do not help keep Ca up to where it needs to be.

i dose B-Ionic. no calcium or kalk reactors. i also use instant ocean, so when my corals grow more, i know i will have to do more for my calcium levels.

That is what I am preparing for when they start to grow. I researching several corals and what I am up in the air about is Montiporas. I know they are SPS and will use a lot of calcium when they take off. I am just trying to get an idea of what I will need in the future to help. I know I could just keep dosing but what happens when I go out of town on vacation or business(wife for that one if I train her right)lol. I guess I will have to get some of the valley reefers to help out then :D and frag for payment.

What I am research is a Montipora tank or a Zoa tank. For ease od things I am looking at one or the other not a mixed tank. I will make up my mind one of these days. lol Thanks for the help and keep the ideas coming.

i have a purple rim monti cap that has grown 1 - 2 inches on every layer since november, along with 7 clams and a ton of other SPS that are all growing, and i haven't had a problem with calc. level yet, but i know it is coming soon. i am thinking of just dripping some kalk water as part of my topoff when the time comes.

That is what I was thinking as well. I was looking up reactors and man I wont have them room with the CO2 bottle and the reactor itself. I will probably have a 5g or so top-off that I can use to drip the entire time so i dont have to worry about it. Wont be until later but I want to be prepared when the time comes.
