Anyone keeping LPS under T5's? I was looking at some corals online and the wife pops in and like several of the LPS corals(maze brain mainly) but I do like several others as well. I was thinking that a 4X39w might be a little much so I was thinking of a 4X24w staggered so the ends are not a intense and the lower light critters can hold up there. It wil only be about 12" deep as I plan on having a 3" or so sandbed. I was also looking at a 4X75w VHO setup with 2 50/50 and 2 superactinics. But the bulb life on T5's are much better I understand(vho about 8 months and T5 about 14 months)

I have a some hammer, candy cane, and favites doing great under 4 54w t5 ho's. My Trachyphyllia brain does not seem to be doing so good anymore, since I switched to the new lights. All my shrooms and zoos are reproducing under the new light. I also have a plate coral that is almost all white now, I think I bought it already on his way out. I used to use pc lights and the t5's are way nicer and run cooler.

Doug, I would just go with the 4x39w setup. Zoos like high light, well most. The maze brain will also thank you for it. What other type of critters do you plan on keeping?

Well I am in the process of making my list. I might try to make it a very specific tank but what kind I am not sure. Let me get my list together and I will post. Will have to be after lunch as I have an awards banquet to go to with my wife.
