is this the same as the texas purple monster??

i think there are two different corals that people are calling a purple bonzai - aka texas purple monster. this one and another that doesnt have those extended tips - shorter fatter branches that is solid dark purple with bright green polyps. not to be confused with the true purple monster which is solid purple with white polyps. :lol:

I dont think thats the purple monster. THe color is much more bold on the texas purple monster.

thanks for the info.

i had a "true" purple monster that was given to me. it fell behind a rock and was never found.

I don't believe it the TX PM because all the ones I have seen or HAD didn't have yellow tips.

Ahh man, that must have hurt. The true purple monster is hard to find. It grows super slow so thats why frags are not readily available.

Yeah I had FW and I dosed as directed on the bottle, ran a filter forcing the water thru carbon and water changes but I lost the PM about the size of a peach, several other good frags and 4 other colonies along with my Y tang and Mandarin. REALLLLY SUX... It happened about 7 weeks ago.

I actually have a turaki I got when we ordered from lasps.us

One of my favorite corals and it's encrusting beautifully. I'll be sure to let you all know when it's ready to frag but it's going to be awhile... that and Clint (fishypets) gets my first frag from it.
