i have a pink tip green BTA, i've had it for a year. i feed it 2-3 times a week, a variety of krill, squid, and silversides. it has grown from a few inches to about 8-10 inches , and is hosted by a pair of true percs. it appears healthy and thriving, except the tentacles are never bubbly anymore. it looks more like a long tentacle anemone. i have noticed this occasionally in other large BTAs , and wonder if this is a normal change that comes with size, or a result of something else. the anemone is about 14" under a 250W DE 15K CV bulb, and hasn't moved since i moved the system about 6 months ago. parameters have been stable for the most part, but there have been shifts in cal/alk, as i have been experimenting with different methods of supplementation.

We have two that do the same. the RBTA is big. up to 12" sometimes the tentacles that are closest to the light will bubble, but mostly she just stays skinny. she is hosted by a cinnamon clown. the GBTA stays more compact and somewhat bubbly but not dramatically so. she is further from the light but only 4-6". sheh is hosted by an ocellaris. both are under 175mh/190wVHOact in a 40g.

It's so strange how "different" these things are. I have FIVE in my tank, all came from one. And, they are so different. Some have long tentacles, others short. One is getting very rose-red, the others are all pink.
