NE1 in Corpus wanna start a Club? (Chapter of MAAST?)

Hey all,

Just was wondering if anyone in the Corpus area would like to create our own CC chapter of MAAST. I will of course talk to the all MAAST office holders to make sure it's ok. I've been wanting to start something locally since I began this hobby two years ago. Here are some incentives I can bring to the club:

Acrylic Knowledge:
- DIY workshops ( I'm not scared to show you how it all goes down)
- % Discount on Acrylic Work for members

Reefkeeping Knowledge:
- Kept Reefs for 2 years
- SPS experience for almost two years
- I read ALOT so everything that I know I will share
- Frag Swaps would be sweet ( Last time I counted I had over 70 different SPS frags, so once they really take off I'll have some goodies!)

Saltwater business:
- % Discount for Club Members (%more than wholesale)
- Group Orders once a month

My workshop is yours:
- Ever thought about building your own stand? (you could use my Table Saw and misc tools if you dont have them)

Now I have never done anything like this before so I might be a little wet behind the ear on how it all goes. But hopefully I will have someone who can throw me some pointers and help if this thing gets going.I think it would be cool to have a club down here. Not only that, we could make trips to the MAAST meetings every other month. Either way though, just want to share all that I know and all that I have to learn with others who love this hobby as much as I do. Thanks for the time everyone.

I know you guys are pretty limited on LFS down there, but if you can get us a contact name we can see if we can get our sponsorship guys to talk Tropical Fish Haven and see if we can get you a discount. They may not be interested because they feel like they have no competition in Corpus and don't need to be a sponsor. On the other hand, I know of a couple of folks from SA that have spent some big bucks down there on acrylic tanks. It won't hurt to ask.

Mabey Corpus Christi, Austin, Brownsville, SA Forums, sub-forums, or Posts, so those from these areas know what's happening, such as local meetings, swaps, and talks, etc.

Check with gjuarez. He has done a very good job at organizing the folks in the RG Valley. They have their own group down there now. I believe they meet occasionally at the one LFS down there that supports SW.
