WOW!!! I had a very large nitrate spike in my tank. 80ppm all other numbers are good ph is a low @ 8.0 kinda crazy! amonia-0, nitrite -0, salinity is at .025. My tank is a rr 125, large maroon clown, 3 pj cardinals, anthias, 6 line, fairy wrasse, small yellow tang, and pink spot gobie. Assorted corals, lots of shrooms and inverts. any reason this might have spiked so fast ( this week). doing a water change about 20%now any other ideas. thanks

Have you had anything die? Any maintenance issues with your skimmer? How about a major disturbance of your sand bed?
How long has the tank been set up and how deep a sand bed do you have? I guess I'm asking what has changed in your tank in the last week that you may be able to point the finger at for the change? What were your nitrates running before?

Count everything... a missing fish could do it!
