I had an idea yesterday to feed Lemon pulp to my two budding Aiptasia friends. It almost worked, but I lost patience and pulled out the needle (thanks Carlos for directions to the needle giving vet) to nuke em with calcium, and accept the loss of neighboring polyps. The Aiptasia would grab the pulp, and act like it was about to eat it, and eventually let go. Maybe I shoulda used smaller pieces, I don't know... It seemed like it would work in theory (scuba tank in Jaws effect). Ayone else tried this and had luck?

I have had great results squirting a very small amount of vinegar with a needle deep into it and don't lose anything else, I have squirted too much and had a white pock mark on my rock for a month but that's all. They are pretty crafty little critters.

I use lemon juice in a syringe. Works great and doesn't seem to have ever had long term effects on neighboring corals so far.

go to garf.org for a homemade recipe using pickling lime and tap water. it has worked pretty good for me and according to garf it has had no effect on their corals.
