Whuts up guys. I wanted to post a couple of pics of my cousin's tank. I setup this tank up for him roughly about three 2 months and a half ago and I am maintaining it for him as well. This will be an all softie tank as my cousin is a newbie. We might include an lps or two. Right now there is only frags, we are waiting for the tank to mature a bit more. Alot of the livestock and equipment came from some Maast members so I want to thank:
Texas Todd - Liverock
Emilio (Subber) - Corals
Salt-94integrals - for the lights
Jason - Camera

Most of the liverock that was bought from Todd had very little coraline algae, now most of the rock is turning purple. The tank is doing great with weekly water changes, nothing is being dosed as of now. Also, notice that I am not very good photographer but I am learning.

By the way, give me feedback and suggestions. I also want to thank Rick (Marlin) for helping me build the DIY sump.

Very nice, bowfronts are awesome display tanks! I would add a solid blue background on the tank - I think that would really make the rockwork jump out!

thanks steve, we already bought paint for a black background. I am afraid of painting it though, I dont want any harmful substances to get in the tank. I might just go with a black background instead. For some reason I like black better. I scraped the walls today, I dont like coraline on the glass.

Jason, thanks for the camera man. Its pretty good, I still need to play around with the features a little more. This is my first time taking pics.

Looks like this tank is coming along nicely. Once the corals start to grow and spread then it will fill in nicely. I think I see just one clown?

The camera you are using is working just fine and I am sure you can get some great photos with it. These pics are good except the white balance is a little off.

I hope you do not mind but, I adjusted the white balance just a little. Tell me what you think?

Is your name still mark or not anymore? Thanks for adjusting the white balance, of course I dont mind. How can I do that? Is there a special program? Jason, do you know? It looks good, thanks man.

BTW, there is only one clown. As far as fish, we will probably add one more clown and a small fish like a goby or a blenny. What fish do you guys suggest?

You can use any photo editing program.

Paint Shop Pro, Photoshop CS2, Photoshop Elements, Microsoft PictureIt and actually if you do not want to spend any money on a proggie -> check out Gimp - a freely distributed program and can do lots of stuff. It works pretty darn good.

Whatever program you are using just do a search in its help for "Adjusting White Balance". Let me know which one you are using and maybe I can help you figure it out.

LOL. BTW-Real name is Mark. MAAST name is now "TheOtherGuy" and used to be "Mark", came about cause Richard has been posting longer than I have and posting more too! Anyway, people come into the store and ask If I am Richard? No, I am the other guy I would say and so shall it be. :D

Keep the pics coming....

LOL Mark, funny story. I will look into some of the programs and if I have any questions I will shoot you a pm.

Doug, as far as equipment there is nothing fancy. THe sump was made from a 20g tank and we just added baffles. I am planning on adding one more baffle to make it a refugium. THe protein skimmer is a sealife systems 75 model and it works well for a tank this size. This tank is my cousin's and it is Roma and I wont be heading over there until next weekend. I will take some pics then? Hey, did you ever make that sump you were going to work on?

not yet I was going to pick up some stuff from regal but did not have a chance to go by. I hope that I can get up there in early Jan so I can start that project. I have several on my mind including a skimmer. Will have to see what happens. Very very very slow project this one. I am going to have to find something to make some extr money for my addiction (I mean hobby)

It's a SEIO 620, works good in my opinion but I seriuosly doubt that is really does push 600 gph like advertised.

I am getting a new skimmer for this thing. Does anyone know of a good in sump skimmer for a 46g bowfront?

Its underneath, it was made from a 20g tank with just a bubble trap. It has live rock rubble in it. Nothing fancy. I will be adding another baffle to make it into a refugium. I will try to get pics later.
