my parents want me to leave to goto there house for christmas and that means i would be stuck in poteet from friday till monday. there will be know one here to feed my fish. i tried looking this up on google but i guess i wasnt asking right. would they be ok for 3 days if i feed them a lot friday night then as soon as i get back feed them again, a lot? if not i will stay here, its really no big deal but i just want to know. also, how many snails should i get for a 55g? is there a better clean up then nassasirus snails?

They can go without food for three days. You don't have to feed them a lot, just a little bit more than usual from now until then. Don't pollute your tank by overfeeding. The number of snails depend on the amount of algae in your tank. Not enough algae and they start dying (nature's balance.) There are different snails for different type of cleanup jobs.

I take vacations all of the time and I have never lost a single thing while I was gone. I've left my tank without feeding for 7 days and I've done that multiple times. You should be fine as long as your fish are healthy.

I wouldn't feed them a lot at once, the last day before you leave feed them 3-4 times that day so they retain more of the nutrition. I feed twice a day anyways its better for the fish.

a weekend should be fine................................or get someone from MAAST to drop by.

Poteet isnt that far from San Antonio, you could go home and check on them.

Sometime I forget to feed my fish for a week and they seem fine.
