I bet this gets brought up alot, but it seems like the board is taking forever to load lately. Anyone else notice this?
Ive tried it at work too and still seems slow.
Just curious,

And I thought it was just me. I've been noticing it the past two weeks. Seems to be better the past few days, but it was really, really slow for awhile. I deleted all my cookies and that didn't help. All other sites worked fine. And it did it at all hours of the day, even early morning when there weren't many people on the site.

I have been saying this for more than a month !!! I even switched to Mozilla and it got better, but now its wicked slow again. Its so slow I can actually fill out forms on other sites before the page loads!!
I have done every tweak in the book including having TW come over to check the lines. I am constantly getting a little message from Mozilla saying waiting on MAAST ... There is also my email that is set up for my site and then my personal one as well as my email from MAAST. OLE runs right through them until it hits MAAST and then it hangs for a bit!!

Been very slow here too. Other sites seem to work fine. Time of day seems to make little if any difference. I'm using Firefox with SBC DSL 'Pro'.

The site does tend to slow down lately during peak hours, it's due to the numerous amount of visitors. The only way around this is by upgrading our web hosting account. I'll bring this up to the Board soon. The rest of the day we're running nice and smooth, it's just at a few select times the server gets a bit overloaded.

Ya.....after Pete and I went through and tweeked the crap out of his computer, it continued.
Then it started slowing down for me at work and at home. At work we are a major telecom company that supplies MAJOR bandwidth lines to other companies like SBC to resale. So everytime someone wants a 56K modem connection we throw a T1 at it since we own the lines/fiber and all. Our internet connection there is piped out of an OC198 (SUPER fast!) and it slows down there to, so I concluded that it was the pipe comming of the MAAST server. You can only go as fast as the slowest pipe between your computer and the computer you are connecting too! LOL
Or a better analogy............ you can only go as fast as the slowest grandma on a one lane highway! LOL

Chris, are there stats you can get off the server? It seems to be slow at times other than just peak times, very random? Sometimes response is quick, and then suddenly 10+second updates??? Seems odd.

Come on now, this is ridiculous, its getting to where I dont enjoy coming here anymore because its so slow and I just dont have the time to waste. Nothing personal, but, seems the more it gets tweeked, the worse it gets. It used to be much quicker even with webtv. This issue really needs to be resolved fast if new membership is to be encouraged.

Nothing has been tweeked on the site for quite some time Jim. Things have slowed down lately because more members are visiting, which causes the server to slow down from the increased consumption.
The Board has voted to have our account upgraded, so things should go back to normal shortly.

Haven't really seen any slowdown today at all. Since the Board approved an upgrade for our hosting, i've been able to use a number of the caching settings for both the forum and website in general. During normal browsing I never had much trouble except for a few occasions, but now things seem to be going much quicker.
Any complaints thus far?

Its much better, but I am still getting a short hang at the initial click. Its not every click just once in a while. Thanks

Pete.. since you have access to see the load level of the server, it would help if you sent me a PM with some of that info when you're seeing slow load times.
