im not sure if im gonna do it, but just for pricing, how much would anyone charge me for a "L" shaped tank thats 48" long on each "leg" and 1 foot wide, and 3 feet tall. i'd want it drilled on each end. and a corner overflow at the vertex. and make it out of whatever would be cheaper, plexi, or glasss. probably 1/2 thick. ill make a drawing on paint.
if anyone could give me a ballpark estimate on what they'd charge to build it, that'd be great. and if you could get an estimate with materials, that'd make my day :P
thanks a bunch!

36" High on a L-shape i would recommend 1". 3/4" Maybe with a slight bow 1/8" and it would have to be Eurobraced with a 2.5-3" lip with cross braces. Not only that, Unless you want 6 seems, which I dont recommend, You will have to buy pretty much one sheet that will be heated and bended jst for the front. A 1" full 4x8 sheet will run probably about $450+ and like pete said I see three sheets. 3/4" thick full sheets cost 350+ for the quality Polycast. I actually planned on making one of these but i'm waiting till I have my custom big outfeed/workbench made. All in all, I would tell you to expect a minimum of about $2000 for a tank like this. If I calculated correctly it would be roughly 180 gallons. Would be one AWESOME tank though. Tropical Fish haven here in corpus has a 270 gallon L shape made out of 1" I believe and they wanted 2700 for it.

12 " front to back is not very deep... thin show tank 55's are 13.5 if memory serves... I would go for a greater front to back depth if possible.

You'd be better off at 21-24" tall. You could also try aquatrend in SA.

i made the front-back so small, because the space i want to put the tank is only 4 feet long, and if i made it any bigger it would look funny.
