ive got a tube of aqua-tech 100% clear silicon rubber sealant that i used to seal up a few minor leaks in my old 20 tall.

i was wondering since it says its marine and freshwater safe, if i could use this to glue corals to rocks.

i ask because i have a troublesome coral that wont stay put and im not going out to buy superglue for this one guy.

yes no?

its made by regent pet products and i picked it up at wal mart for 5 bux.

Why not epoxy them together? I've seen epoxy sticks at the LFS.

I dont think its a great idea, silicone releases acetic acid when its curing. What kind of coral is it?

silicone is only safe after it cures, and it will not stick to a wet surface, and it will not cure under water, but it will release some nasty toxins( as akm stated) i wouldn't even think of putting wet silicone in my tank.

Just try wedging them in between some rock for now. You work at fin addict right? Just borrow a tube from them next time you go back.

First off, glue and epoxy will not work on the leather of ricordea, they secrete too much slime for anything to adhere to them. I suggest going out and getting some mesh, like bridal veil material, and use that to secure the frags to a piece of LR. The super glue will work on the zoos, but put it in water immediatly after gluing as to not burn the zooanthids skin.

You can also attempt to toothpick the leather and shroom to a rock until it attaches, that's the way I do them. Just make sure it's in a low flow area so it will not get blown around while trying to attach.
