I think my clowns are about to mate! LOL

:lol

The male has cleaned one corner of my nano SOOOO much that there is no sand there, BB! LOL and the female keeps going down there and checking things out.

everything I read about them mating they seem to be doing! YEA>>>>

Haven't seen any eggs though yet! :unsure

Keep your fins crossed! ^_^

I even covered their lights with a red scarf and put on some Barry Manelo......

Will the Frys make it or will the filters get them? Also, what do you feed the fry if they do hatch?

Good luck. Hopefully they will lay and hatch. The only problem will be keeping the fry out of the filtration. They will probably hatch at night and you'll never see them. If you do see them, you can try and catch them, but you have to be very careful because they are fragile.

If eggs do show up, you could go and get one of those floating hatcheries to try and keep them in for the first few weeks/months. You can feed them rotifers and live phytoplankton.

Have fun.

Hey...my blk/wht ocel. has spawned 4 times in the last 6 weeks...laid a whole bunch of eggs last night...they host a large colt that is attached to its' own rock and they lay the eggs on that rock at the base of the colt. The last couple of batches, some have lasted till you can practically see what looks to be eyes or some sort of reflection in the egg sacks...I'll see if I can get a pic. It's awesome to watch them spawn... :)

Tis the season...apparently...lol
My harlequin shrimp spawned last night. It was so neat. since it is only a 6 gallon and there were hundreds of baby shrimp everywhere it looked like a snowglobe!! Christmas in the reef!

That's great!! Are you doing anything special with the lighting cycle or did they spawn with your normal light schedule?

Hey Jason, thats great to hear, but you got the wrong Barry. IF you want them to spawn sooner you might want to try barry white instead. Good luck and keep us posted.

Your corals may also get the fry also. Instar is a GSM breeder. He's the guy to talk to about raising them.

There is a member of the Houston club Marsh that spawns them and raises them then either sells them of gives them away, she wrote a whole thread with pictures about the process and tells you what to do and what not to do. She has done it a few times and is now a pro. The pics of the babies are really cool.....Micro Percs....I'll see if I can find the thread and post it so others on here can see ...........

I'd suggest you get the book "Clownfish" bye Joyce Wilkerson. Its the bible of all clown breeders..I know that book cover to cover ..very cool and very interesting.

Not wanting to breed them, just for them to get along so I can keep them both.

Here is a short doc (from Marsh)on how KarenB in Houston raised little percs to teenagers and it is not "The Bible", but a regular person telling the rest of us that hasn't done it, how she did it then pass on the info. Her actions speak volumes in that she actually raised them and took the time to tell others .

Has some good pics of her babies too......
