Elections Banter!

Ok, so the BOD may not like this idea, but I'm not skeered ;)

Really, just trying to keep the banter out of the "MAAST Elections 06" thread (Nominee posts ONLY!), and I figured some of us might want to make some recommendations, ask questions about BOD positions, or maybe just have a little fun :D

Like, who should be crowned MAAST's "King & Queen Thong", we know the "King", so who's the "Queen" ;)

Seriously, if you have some interest in a BOD position and want to ask some questions, or you want to bring a good BOD candidate out of the closet, here is your chance :P

yeah i am thinking about running for the BOD but i have a couple of questions...

1..how is it looked upon if you dont make EVERYmeeting.???

2..I have no reef tank soon but not now is that a downfall???

one plus for me is that i am on all the time and i really do like the club but i am kind of the new guy on the block so should i wait for others who are older(an by this i mean in the hobby and club longer) and wiser to runnfirst or should i just say heck with it and try for the BOD....

also you are kind of looking for a speech of why i should be on the BOD that part i really dont know how to answer or fill out i draw a blank about that time. so if you could give any suggestions or ideas on that i will run and fill out my speech. best part about me is i have some great ideas(maybe not all the time) for the most part.....................

There are 4 regular BOD meetings a year, and maybe a few "Special" meetings. Missing 3 in a row gets you booted. Attending regular club meetings is more a matter of being there to help with raffles, etc. Missing a few wouldn't be horrible, but helping when you can is the key!

Not a requirement to be on the BOD, or to be in the club for that matter ;)

It isn't a matter of experience, it is a desire & willlingness to help and to keep MAAST moving forward.

Whatever works for you! Tell us why you like the club, why you participate on the forums & attend meetings, why do you think MAAST should exist ... and maybe throw out one of those good ideas! (BTW - We can't have beer at MAAST meetings, I already tried that one ;))

I nominate myself to start the MAAST Third Reich, LOL..JK...Im still waiting for a final key ingredient of the newsletter.. :wacko ...(..its a really nice surpirse, but its taking longer for some reason)..if it wasnt for that, id jump in for a BOD position.

BOD meetings

The "Statement" is for the MAAST members, not the BOD. They will be asked to vote and since nominations & voting is all being done online, you won't have an opportunity to stand up and "sell yourself", thus the online statement.
