So would you say 1/8, 1/4, 1/2 off the bottom and where should I leave it while it slimes in? I hear about a week until it settles (this is your old one that you sold to Sunvet) so will it slime faster? It is missing the drain nipple that screws in the side do you remember the size 3/8 is my guess just looking at it?
Thanks

Its 1/4" and it shouldnt take long to "slime", but that depends on your system. The level depends on how you skim also, but right about at the bottom. You will have to play around and see what works best for your system as it is most definitely different on mine.

Duc,
I told your wife I have the drain that was in it, bit you really need a valve there, that's why it isn't there. Jeff at Lifereef told me to not put anything there except a valve as the skimmer wouldn't work correctly. If you
"want" the nipple, I will send it to you, but it would be much better with a small valve. Jeff suggested a plastic or brass valve hooked up to the hose to an external bottle.

It back pressure Jeff is suggesting to create so if there is a nipple there with a hose to a sealed container it should be fine like that too. If you put on a valve and open it its the same as a nipple. Ill suggest plastic and its 1/4"
